(Not) Unique Passion

Doveva essere il classico modello facile&veloce e invece ci ho sbattuto la testa per ben 2 anni! 😴

It should have been a quick&easy pattern, but I hardly took 2 years to workout! 😴

Nel 2016 ci ho provato per la prima volta, come rigorosamente documentato in questo post. Ma purtroppo avevo usato i ferri troppo grossi, nonostante mi trovassi con il campione, ed il top con il passare del tempo si è tristemente sformato. In più ha deciso di disfarsi da solo, probabilmente per un’infelice giunta di filo… insomma una breve storia triste 😥

First time I tried in 2016, as explained here. Unfortunately the needles were too big, despite gauge and blocking, so after a short time the top had lost its shape. Moreover it decided to unravel by itself, maybe due to a bad yarn join… what a sad story 😥

Poi l’estate scorsa ho riprovato senza tanta convinzione 🤔 infatti l’ho messo da parte subito dopo 🙄 finché quest’anno mi ci sono messa d’impegno! Ho usato ferri decisamente più piccoli e per il numero di maglie sono andata avanti provando e disfando 😨 e quando finalmente ero soddisfatta di me stessa… è finito il cotone 😥. Inutile dire che dopo 2 anni era impossibile ritrovare lo stesso colore e così, con estrema disinvoltura, ho concluso con un altro cotone melange sullo stesso tono di fuchsia, con la speranza che sembrasse fatto apposta 😉 ma che dico, era fatto davvero apposta! 😝 Sì perché con il fuchsia rimasto ci ho fatto il mio scialle Virus 😄

Last summer I tried to make it again 🤔 but I left it alone after a short time 🙄 until this year I made my mind and start it again! I used much smaller needles and tried and unraveled 😨 until it was the right size and then… the yarn was not enough! 😥 Of course that color was unavailable after 2 years, so I attached the same shade of a multicolor yarn, hoping that it seemed done on purpose! 😉 Of course it was! 😝 Cause with the solid fuchsia leftovers I’ve made my Virus Shawl 😄
