At last we decided to make Madame Chantilly’s beautiful chart Zero Calories!  I think I am going to make a runner for my Living Room buffet

Alla fine abbiamo deciso di fare lo splendido “Zero Calories” di Madame Chantilly!  Io penso che ne farò un runner per il mobile buffet del soggiorno

Because I decided to use a very precious linen fabric I made a basting at the same size of the stitching in order neither to make mistakes nor wasting fabric I was lucky I had most of the required thread codes, except for white and red  I had to buy them…

Poiché ho scelto di usare una tela di lino molto preziosa ho fatto un’imbastitura a misura tutta attorno al disegno per evitare di sbagliare e di sprecare tela Per fortuna avevo già quasi tutti i fili tranne il rosso ed il bianco  che mi è toccato andare a comprare…

The first step (ending on Feb 29th) is to make the first cake on the left. This is what I have done at the moment, I am really enjoying working on that fabric and the chart seems to be quite simple, I hope it’s going to be a good and relaxing job  .

La prima tappa (che terminerà il 29 febbraio) consiste nel ricamare la prima torta a sinistra. Questo è quanto ho ricamato finora, mi piace molto lavorare su quella tela e lo schema sembra abbastanza semplice e rilassante da ricamare

As promised I’m posting my tutorial for the crocheted covers I made for my Kindle and mobile phone, in this way you can make covers for almost anything you want (iPhone, iPad, tablet, etc…)

You will need 1 ball (or 2 if you want to use different colors) of sport wool yarn and 4mm crochet. I am writing in USA crochet terms, that is:

ch=chain;

sl st=slip stitch

sc=single crochet;

dc=double crochet;

BEGIN: make a chain just as long as the base of your device, make one more ch;

ROUND 1: sc in the 2nd ch from the hook, 1 sc in each ch until you reach the last ch, in the last ch work 3 sc, 1 sc in the other side of each ch until the 2nd ch, 3 sc in the 2nd ch, sl st in the 1st sc of the round;

ROUND 2: 1ch (acts like the 1st sc), work in circle 1sc in each sc of the previous round, end with sl st in the 1st sc of the round;

Go on the same way until you reach the desired height. I used sc to make the cover stronger. If you like, you can make some dc rounds in a different color as I did in my Kindle cover.

In the last round you can make a 10 ch loop at the center of one side, and sew a button at the center of the other side in order to lock your cover.

Come promesso vi pubblico il mio tutorial della cover all’uncinetto che ho fatto per il mio Kindle e per il cellulare, nello stesso modo potete fare le cover per qualsiasi cosa (iPhone, iPad, tablet, etc…)

Vi serviranno 1 gomitolo (o 2 se volete usare più colori) di lana tipo sport ed uncinetto n.4. Userò queste abbreviazioni:

cat=catenella;

mbs=maglia bassissima

mb=maglia bassa;

ma=maglia alta;

INIZIO: fare una catenella lunga esattamente come la base del vostro dispositivo + 1 cat;

GIRO 1: mb nella 2a cat a partire dall’uncinetto, 1 mb in ciascuna  cat fino alla penultima cat, nell’ultima cat lavorare 3 mb, 1 mb nell’altra parte di ciascuna cat fino alla 2a cat, 3 mb nella 2a, mbs nella 1a mb del giro;

GIRO 2: 1cat (sostituisce la 1a mb), lavorare in tondo 1mb in ciascuna mb del giro precedente, terminare con mbs nella 1a mb del giro;

Continuare nella stessa maniera fino a raggiungere l’altezza desiderata. Ho usato la maglia bassa per rendere più resistente la cover. Volendo, si può fare qualche giro a maglia alta in un colore diverso come ho fatto con la mia Kindle cover.

Durante l’ultimo giro si può lavorare un occhiello di circa 10 cat al centro di uno dei due lati, mentre in corrispondenza sull’altro lato si cucirà un bottone per permettere di chiudere il tutto.

E queste sono altre cosette che ho fatto… Mi è venuta una sorta di COVERMANIA… farei cover per qualsiasi cosa , cover di lana per questi giorni di freddo e gelo…

This is my present for Christmas , gorgeous e-book reader Kindle from Amazon (filled up with oh so many books I’m going to read… now reading Three Men in a Boat, I have read that book so many times since I have learned how to read, and still it makes me laugh so much!). But I think that factory-made covers are so expensive, at the same price I can buy many many ebooks, what do you think? That’s why I took my crochet and some of that beautiful woolen yarn my mother in law gave me as a present for Christmas and I made a crocheted cover by myself! So my Kindle will be safe and protected in a unique manner

Questo è il regalo che ho ricevuto per Natale , il fantastico lettore di ebook Kindle di Amazon (l’ho riempito di bellissimi libri da leggere, adesso sto leggendo Tre Uomini in Barca, l’ho già letto così tante volte da quando ho imparato a leggere, ma lo trovo ancora sempre più divertente!). Mi sembra però che le cover che vendono per questi aggeggi siano un po’ costose, allo stesso prezzo pensate quanti ebook mi posso comprare? Per questo ho preso il mio uncinetto ed un po’ della bellissima lana che mia suocera mi ha regalato per Natale e mi sono fatta una cover handmade! Originale ed unica per mantenere protetto ed al sicuro il mio beneamato Kindle!

Hi everybody, this is my step 2 for SAL Blanket. They are flowery grannies, we could make different kinds of flowers but I made all the same because I did not print the tutorial and I had to work by heart and this was the only one I had in mind!

Hi everybody, this is my second step of SAL Granny Blanket, actually it was a flowered variation of the granny squares of the first step. I decided to make six of them anyway because I like them so much!

A tale proposito vorrei raccontarvi del nuovo SAL a cui ho da poco aderito! Qualche tempo fa mi sono iscritta ad un gruppo su Facebook intitolato “Condivido con il cuore – Uncinetto Cucito Riciclo Creativo”

This beautiful group’s moderator, Elena, has promoted a Granny Blanket SAL: every week she is going to post in the group and in her blog a new tutorial for a granny square, we will make at least six of a kind. At the end we will join all together and we will get a beautiful blanket.  Don’t you think it’s a nice idea?

La moderatrice di questo bellissimo gruppo, Elena, ha promosso un SAL Coperta con le piastrelle della Nonna: ogni settimana ci presenterà, nel gruppo e sul suo blog, il tutorial di una piastrella. Ne faremo almeno 6 di ciascun modello. Alla fine li uniremo tutti insieme ed otterremo una bellissima coperta. Non è una splendida idea?

Hallo people, I just wanted to show you my last scrapbooking creation, a Card Minialbum. It was inspired by Creating Keepsakes‘ Nov-Dec Issue

Ciao a tutti volevo farvi vedere la mia ultima creazione scrap, un Card Minialbum ispirato al numero di Novembre/Dicembre di Creating Keepsakes

In this album I collected some cards I received in 2011, together with the gadgets I got at Italian Scrapbooking Association Meeting in Crescentino, such as the charms and the tag on the cover. Pages are made with cardboard from cereals boxes (Little Ely loves rice crispies !!!), background paper was downloaded from the Internet.

Ho voluto riunire in questo album un po’ di cards ricevute nel 2011 e qualche gadget dell’ultimo meeting ASI di Crescentino, ad esempio i charms e la tag della copertina. Ho fatto le pagine riciclando il cartone delle scatole di cereali (la piccola Ely adora il riso soffiato !!!)
